Apple may launch the iPhone 16 Pro in an all-new colour variant

Apple hasn’t revealed the official launch date of the iPhone 16 series. But that hasn’t stopped rumour mills from going in overdrive mode. Almost every second day, there’s a new leak or rumour about a new feature of the iPhone 16. This time it’s about a new colour option for the iPhone 16 Pro.

According to a post on X by Majin Bu — who has a semi-decent record of accurate leaks — the iPhone 16 Pro will come in four colour variants. The tipster says that there will be an all-new Desert Titanium colour variant. “There are four colours in total in the iPhone 16 Pro Lineup: white, black, gold and gray. The desert titanium colour is kind of dark gold, similar to the old purple coloir, relatively discreet and deep,” he said on the social media platform.

The tipster posted images of the camera module design for the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, hinting at the new colour option.

If the leak is accurate, then the new "Desert Titanium" shade will replace last year's "Blue Titanium," joining White Titanium, Black Titanium, and Natural Titanium. This year's Black Titanium is rumoured to be significantly darker, while Natural Titanium is expected to lean more towards a gray finish.

A few other recent leaks suggest a return to the polished finish seen on earlier iPhone models align with the latest images of the camera lens rings, hinting at a design shift for the iPhone 16 Pro series.

Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone 16 series sometime in September. No official date has been announced. As far as the leaks are concerned, they should be taken with a pinch of skepticism as Apple keeps all the details guarded under wraps till the launch date.
