Apple has released the fourth beta update of its upcoming iOS 26 update for developers and beta testers. This latest update brings slight changes to the Liquid Glass redesign and the reintroduction of AI-powered notification summaries for News and Entertainment.
Visual redesignApple introduced Liquid Glass design language with the iOS 26 update. featuring glass-like elements, aiming to deliver a more cohesive experience. However, with the third iOS 26 beta update, Apple toned down the glass reflections and made it a bit darker for more readability. The fourth beta update, though, has undone this move, as we now get a more polished and reflective look.
Notification summariesEarlier this year, Apple disabled Notification Summaries, following reports of Apple Intelligence generating erroneous summaries of headlines in the News & Entertainment category. However, the iOS 26 Beta 4 update reintroduces the AI-generated Notification Summaries for news.
Changes in the camera appWith the iOS 26 Beta 4 update, the camera app has also been slightly tweaked in appearance. We also get a new “Welcome” splash screen when we open the camera app with a prompt highlighting the new changes when it launches for the first time. The Camera app icon now has a lot less of an inset black bezel and showcases more of the camera sensor.
Call screeningWe also get new Call Screening with this update, where Apple also allows users to turn off Call Screening, ask unknown callers the reason behind their calling, or automatically silence calls from unknown callers.
Availability and supported devicesThe iOS 26 Beta 4 update is simultaneously released alongside the fourth test versions of iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26.
