He is also known for his impressive performances in Salman Khan starrer Sikandar and Aryan Khan's directorial debut Netflix series The Bads of Bollywood.

In an exclusive interview with Moneycontrol, Vijayant Kohli talked about navigating success following his hit shows. He also reflected on his journey, the problems he has faced, and the creative choices he's made over the years.

During a conversation with Moneycontrol, Vijayant also talked about the broad shift that came after the success of The Bads of Bollywood. The actor further teased his complex villain role of Mama Ji, which viewers will see in the upcoming season of Sapne vs Everyone 2.

Excerpts from the exclusive interview:

Question: How does it feel to be a part of such successful shows?

Vijayant Kohli: It has honestly been a very surreal journey. Being part of successful shows gives you a strange mix of gratitude and responsibility. Gratitude because you know so many people connect with your work, and responsibility because you don’t want to ever take that love for granted. Every project that works reminds you that storytelling still has power, and as an actor, you’re just a medium for that.

Ques: How have things changed post Bads of Bollywood?

Vijayant: Post Bads of Bollywood, things have definitely shifted. There’s more visibility, more conversations, and people start seeing you beyond just one performance. But at the same time, it also pushes you to break your own patterns. You don’t want to be repetitive, you want to surprise the audience, and honestly, yourself too.

Ques: You have worked in many big banners and now Sapne vs Everyone, how does it feel to get recognised?

Vijayant: Having worked with big banners and now being part of Sapne vs Everyone once again, the recognition feels more personal. Earlier, people would recognize the project; now they recognize the character, the choices, the nuances. That’s far more fulfilling. When someone comes up and talks about a specific scene or moment, you know you’ve done something right.

Ques: What is your role in Sapne vs Everyone?

Vijayant: In Sapne vs Everyone 2, I revive my character - Mama Ji, the main antagonist. But he’s not your typical loud, one-dimensional villain. He operates quietly, with control and calculation. What makes him interesting is that he believes he’s right. In his world, he’s protecting something, preserving a certain order. That grey area is what excited me the most. It’s not about being evil, it’s about being convincing. And Mama Ji is very, very convincing.
