If you have an iPhone 14 Plus, then there is a chance that Apple may offer you free service repair. On one of its support pages, Apple has said that iPhone 14 Plus owners can get an issue fixed for free.
What’s the service repair program for?
According to Apple, some iPhone 14 Plus owners are unable to see the rear camera preview. “Apple has determined that the rear camera on a very small percentage of iPhone 14 Plus devices may exhibit no preview,” said the company.
Which devices are eligible for the program?
Only the iPhone 14 Plus. Apple says that the issue may affect devices that were manufactured between April 10, 2023 to April 28, 2024. So if you have an iPhone 14 Plus which was manufactured between the above dates, you might be eligible.
How to check if your iPhone 14 Plus is eligible?
If your iPhone 14 Plus has exhibited this issue, head to the Apple support page. Put in your serial number in a box on the page to see if your device is eligible for this program. If so, Apple or Apple Authorised Service Provider will provide service, free of charge.
Things to keep in mind
Apple has made it clear that it may restrict or limit repair to the original country or region of purchase. Furthermore, this worldwide Apple program does not extend the standard warranty coverage of the iPhone 14 Plus.
In case you believe your iPhone 14 Plus was affected by this issue, and you paid to have your rear camera repaired, Apple may offer you a refund of the service cost. Also, no other damage/issue will be fixed for free by Apple. “If your iPhone 14 Plus has any damage which impairs the ability to complete the repair, such as a cracked back glass, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the service. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the additional repair,” notes Apple on its support page.
