Amazon is doubling down on Alexa+ with four new Echo devices built around custom silicon and advanced sensors. The new lineup — Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11 — promises richer sound, smarter AI, and deeper integration with daily life.
Earlier this year, Amazon introduced Alexa+, its next-generation AI assistant designed for natural, task-oriented conversations. Now, the company is pairing it with hardware optimised for ambient AI. The new Echo devices pack upgraded processors, memory, and sensing tech to let Alexa+ feel more proactive and personal. Every new Echo ships with Alexa+ access out of the box.
At the heart of this lineup are Amazon’s AZ3 and AZ3 Pro chips, complete with an AI accelerator built to handle edge-based models. Combined with Omnisense, a new sensor platform pulling signals from cameras, microphones, ultrasound, and Wi-Fi radar, Alexa+ can respond to context—whether it’s reminding you about a task when you enter a room or alerting you if the garage door is left open.
Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio
The Echo Dot Max (US $99.99) is Amazon’s most advanced Dot yet, featuring a two-way speaker system with redesigned acoustics for 3x the bass of the 5th-gen model. Compact but powerful, it filters background noise better and supports more natural room-wide interactions with Alexa+.
Meanwhile, the new Echo Studio (US $219.99) shrinks 40% in size without compromising sound. It houses a powerful woofer, three optimised full-range drivers, and support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. It’s also designed to slot seamlessly into Alexa Home Theater setups, where users can pair up to five Echo devices with Fire TV sticks for instant surround sound.
Echo Show 8 and Show 11
Amazon’s smart displays are also getting a major refresh. The Echo Show 8 (US $179.99) and Echo Show 11 (US $219.99) boast in-cell touch displays with improved clarity, wide viewing angles, and adaptive visuals. Both feature upgraded audio with front-facing stereo speakers and a custom woofer, plus a 13MP camera that recognises users as they approach, displaying contextually relevant information.
Alexa+ Store and integrations
Amazon also announced the upcoming Alexa+ Store, a central hub to discover devices, services, and subscriptions. Partners like TaskRabbit, Uber, Lyft, and Yahoo Sports will integrate directly, while brands including Bose, Sonos, LG, Samsung, and BMW are adding Alexa+ to speakers, TVs, and in-car systems.
Availability
The Echo Dot Max and Studio will launch in the US on October 29, while the Echo Show 8 and 11 arrive November 12. Indian prices and availability have not been revealed yet.
