Taking to X, Shekhawat wrote, "Pleased to have attended the wedding ceremony of our Badminton Champion Olympian PV Sindhu with Venkatta Datta Sai in Udaipur last evening and conveyed my wishes & blessings to the couple for their new life ahead."

Sindhu's father mentioned that both families have been well acquainted for a long time, but the wedding plans came together in just a month. The couple chose this date as Sindhu's schedule will be packed with training and competitions starting next year.

Recently, Sindhu broke her two-year title drought on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour by defeating China’s Wu Luo Yu in the finals of the Syed Modi India International badminton tournament held in Lucknow.

The title clash lasted 47 minutes, with Sindhu securing a straight-sets victory of 21-14, 21-16.

This marked Sindhu’s first BWF World Tour title since her triumph at the Singapore Open in July 2022, a BWF Super 500 tournament. The Syed Modi India International, in comparison, is a BWF Super 300 tournament. In 2023 and 2024, Sindhu reached the finals of the Spain Masters and Malaysia Masters but fell short of clinching the titles.
