Yashasvi Jaiswal edits post after Rajasthan Royals exit rumours set internet abuzz

While majority of players punched much below their weight, some players were able to defend their reputation and stature. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of those players.

The Rajasthan Royals have a lot to look forward to next season, even though their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign finished in ninth position. While majority of players punched much below their weight, some players were able to defend their reputation and stature. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of those players.

He finished the season with 559 runs at an average of 43 and a strike-rate of 159.71. But since RR's season ended, there have been more rumors that Jaiswal would leave the team.

Jaiswal is still one of the game's most sought-after top-order batters. However, rumors that the southpaw is dissatisfied with the team have been sparked by the franchise's lackluster performance this season.

"Thank you, Rajasthan Royals, for everything. Not the season we hoped for, but grateful for the journey. On to the next challenge and whatever the future brings. YBJ 65," Jaiswal originally wrote on Instagram, before editing the post.

From a career perspective, Jaiswal might be going through a phase of uncertainty. There were rumors at the beginning of the season that the batter wanted to move to Goa from the Mumbai state squad. The youthful opening star's desire to transfer was confirmed. Jaiswal later changed his mind, though, and remained with the Mumbai squad.

India's tour of England, where they are expected to play five Test matches, is the 23-year-old's next assignment. But it's unclear who Jaiswal's opening partner would be because captain Rohit Sharma has decided to retire from the format.

Since making his Test debut against the West Indies in July 2023, Jaiswal has been India's first-choice opener. He has since played 19 games, solidifying his position with outstanding performances on the biggest stage. In Test matches, Jaiswal averages over 52, with four hundreds and ten fifties.
