As his old team, the Delhi Capitals, was far from winning their IPL 2025 match on Monday in Vizag, skipper Rishabh Pant of the Lucknow Super Giants was in a laid-back mood. Delhi had 39 runs to win from just 17 balls after losing their eighth wicket at the beginning of the 18th over, making the task much more challenging. As a result, when Kuldeep Yadav arrived at the crease, Pant had a lighthearted conversation with his India teammate, having no idea what was in store for him.
On the second ball of the 18th over of the match when Ravi Bishnoi dealt out a flat delivery on off, Kuldeep sliced it in front of the wicketkeeper, but he attempted to cut off the back foot. Pant collected the ball quickly as Kuldeep stayed in his crease, but then the LSG captain shoved him out of the crease before taking off the bails.

Eventually, it was DC who had the last laugh as Ashutosh Sharma played a match-winning knock.
Interestingly, it was Kuldeep who had dismissed Pant for a duck earlier in the match. This incident threw light on the close friendship between Pant and Kuldeep.
