IPL 2024 RR vs LSG team analysis with likely playing eleven inclusing Sanju Samson and KL Rahul

Rajasthan Royals will host Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday. While LSG finished a credible third in the last edition, the Royals narrowly fell short of the playoffs finishing fifth. Both these teams eye better finish this time and beyond their close rivalry, there is another personal battle brewing up in the Jaipur derby. Both the skippers, Royal’s Sanju Samson and Super Giants K L Rahul are aiming to grab the keeper-batter position in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup and they know fully well the path to the WC lies through the IPL.

Rajasthan boasts of a mouth-watering batting lineup that includes the in-form Indian sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal will pair with Jos Buttler at the top and the two could well vie for the MVP this season. Skipper Samson at 3 followed by the likes Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell and Dhruv Jurel completes this star-studded top six. RR may need to adjust Riyan Parag in this batting lineup and also include Ravichandran Ashwin in the eleven as he balances their batting and gives some cover to the long tail. Chahal will be the spinning partner to Ashwin while Trent Boult and Avesh Khan take the new ball.

Meanwhile, LSG too have a matching batting lineup that includes QDK, Padikkal, K L Rahul, Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda, and Ayush Badoni in the top six. Marcus Stoinis could play as a floater, and he brings the X-factor to their team. Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi can be a handful if the track turns; and if it is assisting seamers, the Super Giants have Naveen-ul-Haq and Yash Dayal to exploit the conditions.  If Lucknow wants to bolster their batting further, they may include Kyle Mayers in place of Naveen-ul Haq and include an Indian seamer in the squad.
