GT vs RR Highlights, IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans rose to the top of the points table with a 58-run victory against Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Chasing a 218-run victory target, the Royals were bundled out for 159 in 19.2 overs, as GT registered their fourth consecutive victory.
Here’s how the match between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals transpired in five points:
Archer’s upper hand against Gill:
GT needed a good score from their captain Shubman Gill for them to pile a formidable total after being put in by the Royals. But Jofra Archer denied GT a good start by castling Gill on the first ball of his second over, which saw the ball to move back in sharply and sneak through the batter's defence and crash into the off-stump.
This is the third instance that Archer has dismissed Gill in the IPL, and the three dismissals have come at the cost of 10 runs off 15 balls.

What Gill couldn’t do, Sai Sudharsan accomplished. The GT opener hit his third fifty for the season off 32 balls after seeing off the superb burst by Archer. Sudharsan top scored for GT with a 82-run knock that came off 53 balls, studded with 3 sixes and 8 fours.
GT middle order cameos:
Jos Buttler and Shahrukh Khan scored 36 runs each to power GT to a formidable total, which saw them stitch crucial partnerships with Sudharsan. Buttler hit 5 fours in his knock that came off 25 balls, while Shahrukh struck 2 sixes and 4 fours in his knock off 20 balls.
Prasidh Krishna’s triple blow:

The Royals had released Prasidh Krishna last year before the mega auction and the pacer was bought by GT for Rs 9.50 crore. And on Wednesday, Krishna triggered a turnaround against his former team with a triple blow.
Krishna first dismissed his former captain Sanju Samson for 41, and then got rid of Jofra Archer (4) in his next over. Three balls later, Krishna dealt the final blow by dismissing the dangerous Shimron Hetmyer for 52, who hit 3 sixes and 4 fours in his knock that came off 32 balls as the pacer finished with figures of 4-0-24-3.

The GT spin web:
The team that has Rashid Khan in its ranks is sure to trouble their opponents with his bag of tricks. Rashid, who had an under-par tournament so far, struck in his first over and dismissed Dhruv Jurel (5) with a googly. Samson and Hetmyer took 14 runs off Rashid’s third over but the Afghan came back strongly to dismiss RR impact-sub Shubham Dubey with another googly to finish with figures of 4-0-37-2.
Sai Kishore was brought into the attack when the Royals were 127/6 after 14 overs. And the left-arm orthodox spinner finished with figures of 2/20 from 2.2 overs, dismissing Maheesh Theekshana and Tushar Deshpande – the last two wickets to fall.
