International Space Station (ISS) in 2018 clicked a wonderful space view of the Green River flowing through a canyon in Utah. The river is seen flowing along with a 1,000-foot-deep canyon that is known as "Labyrinth Canyon" according to NASA's Earth Observatory.

Labyrinth Canyon is part of the Colorado Plateau that is spread up to 130,000 square miles (337,000 square km) of area, the area is mostly desert that shares borders with five states.

The formation of this plateau was due to the earthquake where the tectonic movements made rise to 7,000 feet which was caused by Earth's mantle swelling.

The Green River is 730 miles (1,175 kilometers) long, this river flows through Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. In the image, the river is captured when it was flowing around 25 miles (40 km) from the north of Canyonlands National Park.

The formation in which the river flows is zigzag. There is a point when the river runs side by side canyon wall. At this point, the river takes a turn where it gets doubled on itself flowing parallel to itself for a shorter region.

This region is called Bowknot Bend (top left) in the image, which is 7.5 miles (12 km) longer here it is observed that the canyon wall is crumbled due to the soil erosion on both sides.

It is speculated that as the time flows around 100 or 1000 years the saddles will be completely washed away by the flow of the river. And this might result in the formation of a lake named Oxbow Lake claimed by NASA's Earth Observatory. The shape of the lake will be crescent-shaped and it will be separated from the river.
