Pitru Paksha is a sacred fortnight dedicated to honoring ancestors, this Ekadashi Shraddha holds special importance. Also Known as Gyaras Shraddha, it is performed for departed family members who passed away on an Ekadashi Tithi, whether in Shukla Paksha or Krishna Paksha. In 2025, Ekadashi Shraddha will be observed on Friday, September 27 with devotion and prescribed rituals to offer peace and liberation to ancestors’ souls.

Note: The most auspicious time for performing Pitru Paksha Shraddha rituals is during Kutup Muhurat and Rohina Muhurat. If these are missed, the rituals may be performed in Aparahna Kaal.

• Offering Pind Daan: Devotees prepare pindas (sacred offerings of rice, barley, and sesame seeds) for their ancestors.
• Tarpan: Water mixed with black sesame seeds is offered to forefathers as a mark of respect.
• Shraddha Food: Satvik meals are prepared, and food is offered to Brahmins and cows as part of the ritual.
• Auspicious Time: Performing Shraddha during the Parvan period ensures that the offerings reach ancestors and bring blessings.
