  • North India: Celebrated on Chaitra Purnima, which is the most popular form of observance.
  • Andhra Pradesh & Telangana: Devotees follow a 41-day Deeksha, beginning on Chaitra Purnima and concluding on the 10th day of Krishna Paksha in Vaishakha month.
  • Tamil Nadu: Known as Hanumath Jayanthi, this version is observed during Margashirsha Amavasya, which usually falls in December or January on the Gregorian calendar.

It is traditionally believed that Lord Hanuman was born at sunrise. As a result, devotional discourses and chanting start early in the morning, before sunrise, and continue until just after sunrise in temples across the country.
