IIT Roorkee professors discovere fossils of possibly the largest snake to have ever lived
New findings from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee suggest that fossils unearthed in Gujarat's Kutch region might have come from the backbone of an exceptionally large snake. This newly identified species, named 'Vasuki Indicus' (V. Indicus), pays homage to the mythical serpent coiled around the neck of the Hindu god Shiva and acknowledges its origin in India.
