Emma Stone won the Oscar in the Best Actress category at the 96th Academy Awards that was held at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, United States.
Stone clinched the award after beating competition from the likes of Lily Gladstone for “Killers of the Flower Moon”, Annete Bening for “Nyad”, Sandra Huller for “Anatomy of a Fall”, among others to win the prestigious award.
This is Stone's second Best Actress victory at the Oscars after winning in 2017 for her performance in "La la Land".
"It’s been such an honour to be doing this with you and I hope we keep doing this together," Stone said after winning the Oscar on Sunday.
"My dress is broken. I think it happened during I’m Just Ken.The other night, I was panicking, as you can kind of see, happens a lot — that maybe something like this could happen and Yorgos [Lanthimos] said to me, please take yourself out of it," she added.
This was Stone's third recognition during the ongoing awards season after she clinched the Best Actress award at the BAFTAs and Golden Globe award in January.
"Poor Things" won a total of four Oscars at the ceremony held on Sunday and received recognition in the Best Costume Design, Production Design and Makeup and Hairstyling categories.
The award for Best Costume Design was presented by act0r-wrestler John Cena, who turned up naked on stage, leaving fans at the Dolby Theatre and those around the world stunned.
