The Reddit post has since gone viral and sparked a discussion among users about the transparency and quality of food from cloud kitchens.

A Reddit user recently shared a dissatisfying experience after ordering pizzas from what was believed to be a gourmet restaurant through the food delivery platform Swiggy. The individual, who had placed the order from a restaurant just a kilometre away from his home, was surprised to find that the food originated from a small, nondescript shop.

Upon placing the order, the customer grew suspicious about the restaurant's location and contacted Swiggy's customer service for clarification. According to the user, the Swiggy representative informed him that a new outlet had opened in his vicinity. Unconvinced, the user decided to visit the location himself. To his surprise, he discovered a small establishment operating under the guise of 14 different restaurant names.

He further detailed his experience, stating, "I called Swiggycustomer care again, and they apologised, offering to cancel the order and process a refund. However, despite their assurances, the order was still delivered. I made another complaint via Swiggy's chat service and received an immediate refund without further questions."

The situation took another turn when the manager of "Olio," the supposed gourmet restaurant, contacted the user to inquire about the taste of the pizzas. When questioned about the misleading representation, the manager allegedly claimed to have acquired dealerships from various restaurants.

The Reddit post has since gone viral and sparked a discussion among users about the transparency and quality of food from cloud kitchens.

One commenter expressed concerns about the legitimacy of cloud kitchens, stating, "Cloud kitchens don't have proper licenses, let alone sanitation and safety accreditations from requisite authorities. I'm happy to see you got your refund without much hassle."

Another user from the same area shared a similar experience, noting, "Had Olio pizza like last Sunday. The pizza tasted awful. With already pissed with Zomato, now I can't trust Swiggy too, and I am sure that Swiggy ratings and the gourmet category are scams."

"Live near the station as well and noticed this a while back and stopped ordering from those specific restaurants, glad someone else also found it" a third user added.

A fourth user remarked, "Literally all commercial kitchens are extremely dirty and unhygienic. Go check the kitchen of some of the more well established restaurants and you'll find them in far worse condition than these cloud kitchens. In fact most places won't even allow you to enter their kitchens. If you really want 'gourmet' food, order from restaurants located in an ITC or Marriott or other 5 star hotels, where things might be somewhat better, but not guaranteed."
