Why Taylor Swift covered her mouth while chatting with fan at Grammys. Internet speculates

It is the night of the Grammy Awards at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and several stars glammed up for the red carpet event. Among them was pop sensation Taylor Swift as well. For the 66th edition of the prestigious awards, Swift arrived in a white gown with an abstract thigh-slit, black gloves and a prop.

Weeks after being caught gossiping with best friend Selena Gomez and Kelleigh Teller at the Golden Globes held in January this year, the pop icon bought a black fan to the Grammys to make sure her private conversations remained private.

While chatting with Jack Antonoff while Miley Cyrus accepted her first-ever Grammy for “Flowers”, Swift covered her face with a black fan. She placed the prop so that no one could figure out what she was whispering to Antonoff during the live broadcast. In one of the pictures, she was also talking to Lana Del Rey with the fan over her face.

The picture went viral with several reactions from her fans and followers. One user wrote, “Not Taylor holding the fan in front of her face while talking to Jack. Girl learned from the Globes.”

Another user commented, “Taylor Swift whispering to Jack Antonoff through a black handheld fan. Oh, the TikTok lip readers aren’t winning today #GRAMMYs.”

“ITS THE FAN FROM [‘Look What You Made Me Do’ video] AND OMG,” a third user remarked.

Meanwhile, in January, social media went into a tizzy when Gomez approached Swift and Teller at the Golden Globes for a chit-chat session. A lip reader at the time told Page Six that the trio was allegedly gossiping about Timothee Chalamet.

"He didn’t want a picture with me. He said no," Gomez was heard saying according to Jeremy Freeman. Chalamet, on the other hand, was attending the Golden Globes with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, who has a strenuous relationship with Gomez according to reports.

However, Gomez, 31, clarified through a comment on a post on Instagram and wrote, "“I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone business.”

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift made history by winning her fourth Grammy Award for Album of the Year for "Midnights". With this win, the 34-year-old surpassed music icons Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder with the most wins in the category.

She also announced the release of her new album, "The Tortured Poets Department," on April 19, during her acceptance speech.
