Diljit Dosanjh made a spectacular appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, captivating audiences with his electrifying performance and charismatic presence. Introduced by Fallon as “the biggest Punjabi artist on the planet,” Dosanjh performed his hit tracks "G.O.A.T" and "Born To Shine," dancing and owning the stage with his band.

Dressed in traditional Punjabi attire, complete with a matching white turban and a pleated fan, Dosanjh put on a vibrant performance and paused for a moment when he sang "Main hoon Punjab" from his recent film Amar Singh Chamkila.

The crowd roared with applause as Jimmy Fallon joined him on stage at the end, exclaiming, "That is how you do it!" Dosanjh rolled his mustache in true Punjabi style and modified his “G.O.A.T” lyrics, pointing at Fallon while singing, "Hollywood vich jine stars hai unade vich baitha sardar goriye," originally referring to Bollywood stars.

Here is the video of his performance:

Ahead of his much-anticipated debut on the show, The Tonight Show's official Instagram account shared a video of Diljit Dosanjh teaching Fallon some Punjabi phrases. Fallon’s attempt at Dosanjh’s iconic catchphrase “Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye” resulted in laughter, but he won over the singer with a smooth delivery of the greeting “Sat Sri Akal.”

Another moment saw Fallon presenting Dosanjh, 40, with custom white gloves adorned with the show's logo, a nod to Dosanjh’s signature black gloves worn during performances, as they exchanged gloves.

In an earlier interview, Dosanjh had expressed his mixed feelings about the achievement. “I don’t know how I feel, I will maybe feel it when I am there. Let’s go see first what happens there. I have watched Jimmy Fallon show before. I am going there for a musical act, we will perform a song,” he had said.

Earlier, he made history as the first Punjabi artist to perform at Vancouver’s BC Place stadium and dazzled a packed audience at Coachella in 2023, again making history as the first Punjabi artist to grace the festival’s stage.

Dosanjh is on his Dil-Luminati music tour across North America.
