Hyderabad blasts: 4 suspects could be behind 7/11 attacks

More than 24 hours after twin blasts rocked Dilsukh Nagar in Hyderabad, the National Investigation  Agency has identified four suspects and significantly, the four are also said to have been involved in the July 2011 Mumbai blasts.

The investigators are now trying to disentangle the complex web for results in the mystery of who carried out the twin blasts in Hyderabad. It is a web that has now spread across five states.

NIA sleuths believe that Tahsin Akhtar alias Monu, alias Hasan, and his associates Asadullah Akhtar alias Tabrez and Wakas alias Ahmed are key to unravelling the Hyderabad terror attack; and that it was Yaseen Bhatkal, who could be the mastermind behind the blasts.

However, the twists in this complex web don't end there. Twenty days ago, the Maharashtra Anti Terror Squad (ATS) had voluntarily shared the pictures of these men, saying they were the same people who were being hunted for the July 2011 multiple blasts in Mumbai. Clearly, the NIA now sees a possible connect between the two attacks.

- These four suspects had stayed as students before the Zaveri Bazaar blast in Mumbai;

- They used the guise of students and chose an area where many such students used to live, to reduce suspicion;

- They were able to vanish just when the sleuths traced the hideouts.

Hyderabad's Dilsukh Nagar area has several private coaching institutes and has students and youngsters staying as paying guests or shared tenants as well. Sources say that NIA teams are expected to reach Bihar, Jharkhand  and UP which are suspected to be their native places.
