Targeting TMC President and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, BJP said she has become a "cheerleader" of hawala operators and smugglers, alleging that the "queen of Saradha scam" is losing her mental balance due to the Modi government's strike at black money with the demonetisation exercise.

TMC has become a mirror image of the Left, BJP's National Secretary and West Bengal co-incharge Sidharth Nath Singh said, adding that Banerjee has sought Left support against demonetisation as it has hit hard the chit fund companies born under the Left's rule and "nursed" by her government.

"Mamata Banerjee has declared herself a cheerleader of hawala operators, smugglers and other anti-nationals. She is trying hard to unite opposition parties to corner BJP over the issue. The queen of Saradha and parties like Congress, SP and BSP have been shaken due to the Modi government's blow to the foundation of black money.

"TMC has become a mirror image of the Left. The Left gave birth to chit fund companies and Banerjee has nursed. She is seeking its support to save their child," he told reporters.

Referring to the NIA probe into Burdwan blast, Singh said her "frustration" has also been caused by the agency's crackdown on jihadis from Bangladesh as they had found "safe haven" in the state and were involved in training TMC's "anti-social workforce".

"Mamata Banerjee should rather answer as to why terrorists involved in Gulshan bakery attack in Bangladesh got hold of guns manufactured in Malda. There is an NIA report in this regard. The manufacturer had come from Pakistan and that is why the gun used was AK 22 which is made in Pakistan," he alleged.

She must answer the questions raised by BJP, he said. PTI KR .
