Osama's killing proves Pakistan connection to 26/11: Patil

Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil on Monday said the killing of terrorist Osama bin Laden has proved that the roots of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks are in Pakistan.

Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil on Monday said the killing of terrorist Osama bin Laden has proved that the roots of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks are in Pakistan.

"The roots of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, as investigated by police, are with Pakistan and ISI. The killing of Osama has proved the terror links with Pakistan," Patil told reporters here.

On a threat to the US Consulate in the city, in the aftermath of the killing of Osama, Patil said it (consulate) was well secured and no additional security has been provided to it.

"Police and the Consulate authorities have provided sufficient security to it considering threats in the past. No additional security has been provided after the incident," he said.

The world''s most dreaded terrorist Osama bin Laden, known as the mastermind behind the 9/11 terror attacks on the US soil, was killed by US forces after being hounded in a special operation in Abbottabad in Pakistan.
