HC rejects bail petition of naxal leader Narayan Sanyal

Chhattisgarh High Court has dismissed the bail petition of Naxal ideologue Narayan Sanyal, who is serving life-term on charges of sedition and colluding with Maoists to establish a network to fight the state.

Chhattisgarh High Court has dismissed the bail petition of Naxal ideologue Narayan Sanyal, who is serving life-term on charges of sedition and colluding with Maoists to establish a network to fight the state.

A division bench of Justice TP Sharma and Justice Ranganath Chandrakar yesterday struck down Sanyal's petition after the state government opposed it saying the bail can not be granted since the high court had earlier rejected the similar request by PUCL leader Vinayak Sen.

Sen, Sanyal and Kolkata-based businessman Piyush Guha had been sentenced to life imprisonment on December 24, 2010 for sedition and colluding with Maoists to establish a network to fight the state.
