The 69th Filmfare Awards took place over the weekend in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar. Several stars were in attendance and for the biggest awards show of this year for Hindi cinema. The big winners of the night were Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal” and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s “12th Fail”.
“12th Fail” starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar in lead roles was declared the Best Film (Popular) at the awards ceremony. The film, based on the real-life of IPS officer Manoj Sharma, received rave reviews from the masses. The movie won five awards in total and was lauded by all sections of the society. Even Anand Mahindra triumphed over "12th Fail's" win at Filmfare.
Taking to X, the Mahindra Group Chairman wrote, “Bravo @filmfare for recognising that simple and authentic storytelling is STILL at the heart of truly powerful cinema.” He also shared a video of the film’s team accepting the coveted trophy.

Since being shared online, the post has garnered over one lakh views. Several social media users agreed with Mahindra and shared their thoughts.

Meanwhile, the award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) went to Ranbir Kapoor for “Animal”. The award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) was claimed by Alia Bhatt for “Rocky Rani Kii Prem Kahaani”.
The Best Film (Critics) award was given to Manoj Bajpayee-starrer “Joram”. Vikrant Massey won the award for the Best Actor (Critics) for “12th Fail” and the Best Actress (Critics) was jointly clinched by Rani Mukerji for “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway” and Shefali Shah for “Three of Us”.
This was the first edition of Filmfare that was held over two days with the ceremony for Technical Awards held on Saturday. The other trophies were given on Sunday.
