Juspay's mobility app, Namma Yatri, has gone live in Delhi via the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and has already onboarded more than 5,000 drivers in the national capital onto the platform.
The company, which has launched its ride-hailing services in cities like Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Kolkata over the past year, said that it has substantially improved its unit economics.
In January 2023, a Namma Yatri ride used to cost the company Rs 219.5. However, by December, this figure had dropped to Rs 8.6. Of the Rs 8.6 per trip, Rs 2 accounts for tech and data costs, while Rs 1.5 is attributed to marketing and operations.
T Koshy, MD & CEO at ONDC, said, "Delhi, with its rich history, diverse culture, and dynamic energy, holds a special place in our hearts. We see the city as a community of individuals who contribute to the aura of our incredible country. Our vision shared with Namma Yatri is to seamlessly integrate auto-hailing services onto the roads of Delhi, providing reliable and convenient transportation."
The app says it works on a zero-commission model. Drivers can use it for a subscription fee of Rs 25 per day for unlimited rides or Rs 3.5 per trip as a lead generation fee.
Namma Yatri said that drivers have earned Rs 330 crore on rides through the app over the past year. It has onboarded over 1.7 lakh drivers and 40 lakh riders who have booked 20 million rides through the app as yet.
