The Xiaomi 13 Pro was one of our favourite Android smartphones of 2023 with a stellar camera co-developed with Leica. While the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro have already been unveiled in China, it’s the buzz around the Xiaomi 14 Ultra that is gaining traction. Xiaomi is expected to launch its top-of-the-line flagship on Feb 25, 2024 during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. Here’s what we know so far:
A recent report by MySmartPrice revealed renders of the phone and details shared by WinFuture. Tipster Abhishek Yadav took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 will launch in India. His post also mentions that 1 lakh units of the Ultra version will go on sale in India.
The rumoured specs:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: No surprises here. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset and is likely to offer a choice of three storage variants: 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB.
Massive battery: the device is likely to feature a robust 5300 mAh battery under the hood. Xiaomi is likely to offer 90W of wired charging and 50W of wireless charging for this device.
Immersive display and design: the device is likely to sport a flat rear panel with a rounded metal frame. We’re likely to see a titanium version of the device along with a regular version. The Ultra is also likely to boast a vegan leather rear panel. The Ultra will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Powered by Leica: leaks have suggested that the device will combine four 50MP sensors including a 50MP Sony LYT 900 lens with a 1-inch sensor size.
The device looks all set to build on the camera prowess of the Xiaomi 13 Pro and also features best of breed hardware that will pitch it against the priciest flagships.
