Google launches Photovine but only for iOS

Google has launched its new photo sharing service, Photovine. More than styling and sharing pictures, the app allows users to group their pictures based on tags. These groups are called 'vines'. Vine topics can be anywhere from simple tags like 'Cutest dogs' or more complex ones like 'Things I love about the summer'.

Pictures will be displayed in vines and on profiles

The way the app works is you browse vines till you find one that you want to contribute to. Alternatively, if you take a picture, you can search for a vine you'd want to add it to. When your picture is published, it will be viewed in that vine, as well as on your profile. The app is developed by Slide, a social startup that Google acquired last year and is available currently only for iOS. It is free on the App Store.
