Isuzu Motors India, which was the first customer to set up a unit at Sri City at Tada about 100kms from here, has commenced its exports, an official said.
Besides bagging in new deals, the cumulative exports made from Sri City, located about 90 km from here stood at Rs 750 crore.
This new factory would be ready for commercial production in 2023, and would elevate Daikin India to become the largest manufacturer of Air-conditioners (ACs) in India, according to a company statement.
Blue Star Climatech, a newly formed wholly-owned subsidiary, has commenced construction of the new plant, which will be "highly automated" and will ensure that the products manufactured are globally competitive, said a company statement.

Chinese handset maker Xiaomi has set up its second manufacturing plant in Sri City in Andhra Pradesh in partnership with Foxconn. CNBC-TV18's Megha Vishwanath caught up with Manu Kumar Sharma, Vice President of Xiaomi to know more about the plant.
According to the company, the plant has so far created employment for more than 5,000 people. More than 90 percent of the workforce employed in the new plant are women.
Apollo tyres will invest Rs 525 crore to set up a manufacturing facility at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, with a capacity to roll out 3 million tyres per month.

The company plans to build a new greenfield beverage manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, which upon completion will be PepsiCo's largest beverage plant in India, PepsiCo India said in a statement.
