Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole said party workers will stage protests across the state from 11 am to 12 noon on Saturday.
The three allies in the ruling government -- Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress -- have appealed to the people to wholeheartedly support the move.
The three ruling allies have made it clear that the bandh was not state government-sponsored, but called by the parties.
The announcement comes after the Maharashtra Cabinet passed a resolution expressing regret over the death of farmers. A statement from the Chief Minister's Office said the ministers stood in silence as a mark of respect and described the deaths as unfortunate.
Over 200 buses of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation were damaged in attacks by protesters across the state during the bandh, MSRTC officials said.
