The talks between the military representatives of the two countries took place at 5 pm on Monday
Army spokesperson Col. Aman Anand said that as per procedure, a hotline exchange took place between brigadier-level officers of the two countries.
The official said the Army commander briefed the governor on the situation along the borders and about security issues in the hinterland in Kashmir and Jammu regions.

The two DGMOs also deliberated on the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, an Army official said.
Top officials including Foreign Secretary and DGMO are scheduled to brief a panel of MPs, including congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, on the surgical strikes conducted by the army across the LoC on September 28.

Journalist Shekhar Gupta said there is definitely going to be a response from the Pakistan army and said this move definitely counts as escalation. But the escalation will be limited As long as the retaliation remains confined to LoC.

“The persons who are talking about military retaliation - including your DGMO, your defence minister - should understand the consequences. The DGMO should learn a lesson of military that you have to wargame it till the end.
