India, Pakistan DGMOs discuss troop reduction from border areas, agree on no aggressive action

New Delhi and Islamabad has also agreed that both sides should consider immediate steps to ensure troop reduction from the borders and forward areas

India and Pakistan has decided to continue the commitment from both sides towards maintaining ceasefire in talks held on May 12 between the director general of military operations (DGMOs), Indian Army said in a statement.

The talks between the military representatives of the two countries took place at 5 pm on Monday.

The two nuclear-armed nations discussed issued related to continuing the commitment that both sides must not fire a single shot or initiate any aggressive and inimical action against each other were discussed, the statement said.

The DGMO-level talks between the two countries, which were initially slated to take place around noon on Monday, were later scheduled for the evening. The two countries reached an understanding on Saturday on the stoppage of firing and military action following a call made by the Pakistan DGMO to his Indian counterpart Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai.
