The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report said that during 2014-2015 to 2016-2017, 16 accidents or derailments took place due to deficient track maintenance in five zonal railways in audited.

In a report tabled in Parliament, CAG observed that ministries have surrendered large portion of money allocated towards schemes like Nirbhaya, Make in India, National Investment and Infrastructure Fund, etc.
The CAG also noted that Assessment Officers were allowing or disallowing amounts pertaining to bogus transactions arbitrarily, applying discretion that was not available to them.

"The percentage of recovery of electric charges including the duty against the realisable arrears (amounting to Rs 3,868.52 crore) ranged between 40 and 60 per cent during the period 2011-12 to 2015-16," the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India on the revenue sector in J&K for the year ended March 31, 2016, said.
The CAG's revenue report, tabled on Friday before the monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislature concluded, also showed that the outstanding amount on vehicle tax was as high as Rs 1,156.63 crore as on March 31, 2016.
