Arup Roy Choudhury, 58, who was denied an extension of service by the Union government till his superannuation age of 60 years, was sworn in by West Bengal Governor at Raj Bhawan today, a statement said.
Arup Roy Choudhury, 58, was appointed head of India's largest power producer by the previous UPA Government in September 2010 for five years term, which was extendable till he achieves retirement at the age of 60 years.
Replying to another question he said, that whenever the government decides to put some more Ultra Mega Power Projects on the block, NTPC for sure will be one of the bidders. Arup Roy Choudhury further said that in a couple of days the Ratnagiri power project will start functioning.

Country's largest thermal power producer NTPC had said in January that it has identified 7-8 private power projects as potential acquisition targets and will take a final call on them before end of FY'15.
