Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday congratulated CP Radhakrishnan on taking oath as the 15th Vice President of India, reported news agency PTI.
When asked about Radhakrishnan’s swearing-in, she has been quoted as saying, “I wish him all the best.”
According to PTI, Priyanka reached Kerala on Thursday night and, during her visit to Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, reviewed the status of an incomplete road project. She sought to understand the reasons behind the delay, including pending clearances.
After inspecting the Poozhithode–Padinjarathara road works, she noted that the survey had been completed and that officials were preparing to approach the Union Environment Ministry for approval.
“I wanted to personally see where the road project stands, what progress has been made, and what hurdles remain. I now have a clear picture,” she said.
On the proposed Meppadi tunnel road, Priyanka stressed that the project was an “urgent necessity” as residents were facing serious difficulties. At the same time, she emphasized the need to balance development with ecological concerns.
“It is vital to ensure people have access to medical and other essential services, which they currently struggle to reach. Our efforts will focus on supporting them while also keeping environmental considerations in mind,” she explained.
According to party sources, Priyanka landed at Kannur airport late Thursday and travelled by road to Wayanad.
