Ayodhya, revered as the sacred city of Lord Ram and counted among the Saptapuris, is on the brink of a historic moment as the culmination of a 500-year-long struggle approaches. The seven holy cities in India, known as Saptapuri, are considered the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus. These cities, also referred to as Mokshdayini Saptapuris, include Ayodhya, Mathura, Dwarka, Varanasi, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Kanchipuram.
On January 22, Lord Ram is set to take his seat in the grandeur of his palace from 12:15 to 12:45 pm, drawing global attention to the religious epicenter of Ayodhya. Amidst the anticipation, a question arises regarding the appropriate dress code for worshipping Lord Ram in Ayodhya and how one can partake in darshan of Ram Lala through attire.
Uttar Pradesh is poised to allocate Rs 90 crore for advanced security equipment and infrastructure, incorporating cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI), to bolster security measures during the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla scheduled for January 22. Plus, a deployment of 15,000 personnel is planned to ensure comprehensive security and the seamless execution of the event, according to several media reports.

While many temples enforce specific dress codes for entry, the Ram Mandir Trust overseeing Ayodhya's Ram temple has not mandated any particular dress code. Individuals of any gender or age are permitted to enter the temple dressed in accordance with Indian tradition. Prakash Gupta, the office in-charge of the Ram Mandir Trust, clarified that there is no prescribed dress code, but visitors are expected to adhere to cultural norms, ensuring that the body is appropriately covered with no exposed body parts.
Stringent security measures are in place for those seeking entry into the Ram temple. Electronic items, including earphones, mobile phones, watches, and remote keys, are strictly prohibited within the temple premises.
