The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday presented the last full budget of its current term. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna tabled a budget of Rs 9,12,696 crore in the Assembly. Ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, the government is focusing on infrastructure development. At the same time, it is seeking to bring prosperity to every section of society by increasing investment in social welfare schemes.
This budget is being seen as a strong step towards the goal of making the state a one trillion dollar economy. The government's focus remains on development, good governance and public welfare, raising the possibility of significant relief for farmers, youth, women and backward sections.

UP’s GSDP touches Rs 30.25 lakh crore: In his address, Khanna said that during both the previous and the current tenure of the government, the state has seen broad-based development across sectors, including improvements in law and order, expansion of infrastructure, higher industrial investment, job creation, women’s empowerment, youth skill development, farmer prosperity and poverty reduction.
He added that the state’s gross state domestic product (GSDP) for 2024–25 has been estimated at Rs 30.25 lakh crore, marking a 13.4 per cent increase over the previous year.
UP tops agricultural production: Khanna further said Uttar Pradesh ranks number one in agricultural output and is witnessing a sharp rise in investment.
Per capita income: Per capita income has increased in Uttar Pradesh, said Finance Minister Suresh Khanna. He said that in 2025-26, per capita income is estimated to be Rs 1,20,000. The state has succeeded in lifting nearly 6 crore people out of multidimensional poverty. The unemployment rate has come down to 2.24 per cent.

Budget on sugarcane payments: Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said the government has facilitated record sugarcane payments of over Rs 3,04,321 crore during its tenure, exceeding the combined payouts of the previous 22 years by Rs 90,802 crore. Sugarcane prices for the 2025-26 crushing season have been raised by Rs 30 per quintal, providing farmers with an additional Rs 3,000 crore. He added that during the 2025-26 rabi marketing year, wheat worth Rs 2,512 crore was procured from farmers, while in the 2025-26 kharif season, paddy purchases exceeded Rs 9,710 crore and millet procurement amounted to Rs 595 crore.
Labour shelters for migrant workers: The UP budget proposes labour shelters for migrant workers, accident compensation for e-Shram-registered unorganised workers, pilot mobile health vans for construction labourers, and the creation of the Uttar Pradesh Employment Mission to expand domestic and overseas job opportunities.
New schemes worth Rs 43,000 crore: Finance Minister Suresh Khanna is presenting the Uttar Pradesh government's 10th budget. He said new schemes worth Rs 43,000 crore have been launched. The amount given for daughters' marriages will be increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. In addition, 10 lakh youths will be provided employment.
