The Thailand government on Wednesday announced that e-visa facility will be available for all Indian passport holders from January 1, 2025. In a statement, the Royal Thai Embassy said that the existing 60-day visa exemption given to Indian travellers will also remain in effect.
"We are thrilled to announce that #Thailand’s e-Visa will be implemented in India from Jan 1, 2025. However, the 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders remains effective," the Royal Thai Embassy said.
It said that applicants, non-Thai nationals, must apply for all types of visas at the website https://www.thaievisa.go.th.
"Each application can be applied by (1) the applicants themselves or (2) other representatives," ut said.
It added that the processing time for visa applications is estimated to be within 14 working days from the date of receipt of the visa fee.
The Embassy said: "Applicants must choose to pay a visa fee for which the respective Embassy and Consulate-Generals will provide details on the offline payment options."
It also outlined the deadlines for the regular visa application under the current system: "Applications for ordinary passports must be submitted to the designated visa processing companies by December 16. Diplomatic and official passport applications should be submitted to the embassy or consulate-general by December 24.
"The 60-day visa exemption for tourism and short business purposes for Indian ordinary passport holders remains effective until further announcement," it said.
