Continuing has relentless attack against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and related processes, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav made another revelation in a press conference on Sunday (August 10, 2025) claiming Vijay Kumar Sinha, Bihar's deputy chief minister, has two electors photo identify card (EPIC) numbers in two different assembly constituencies - Bankipur and Lakhisarai.

However, Vijay Kumar Sinha issued a clarification saying he did apply for his name to be removed from one constituency, but it did not happen. RJD leader's charge came amid Opposition's tirade against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state ahead of Assembly elections.

"The new voter list, which has been given to the district president of all the parties. This is also there in the new list. So now, who is doing fraud in this? People should know this..." Tejashwi Yadav said. He alleged that the "fraud" could only have two possibilities, saying "either the entire process of SIR of the Election Commission is fraudulent or the Bihar Deputy CM is a fraud."

Taking to X, Tejashwi Yadav shared two different EPIC numbers, serial numbers and their corresponding section numbers from two different constituencies.

Yadav claimed that Vijay Sinha “votes twice in two different assembly constituencies during elections held in two different phases”. The RJD leader also claimed that two enumeration forms were filled out, both signed by Vijay Sinha.

Meanwhile, opposing the application filed by ADR seeking the publication of a list of persons not included in the draft roll, the Election Commission of India (ECI) -- by filing an affidavit -- told the Supreme Court that it was not prescribed under rules to publish a separate list of persons not included in the draft electoral roll.

The apex court's two-judge bench, headed by Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymala Bagchi, is scheduled to hear on August 12, Tuesday, a batch of pleas challenging the constitutional validity of Bihar SIR.

Dismissing the allegations, the EC, in an additional affidavit filed on Saturday, said, the safeguards against deletion have been reinforced by a robust two-tier appeal mechanism prescribed under the relevant rules, thereby ensuring that every elector has adequate recourse against any adverse action.
