Tej Pratap Yadav rejects claim of being ‘blessed with a child’: 'Conspiracy'

I am being defamed. A conspiracy has been hatched against me. Misleading news is being circulated on social media—some say I have a son, others say a daughter. There is no truth to any of this, says Tej Pratap.

Tej Pratap Yadav, national president of the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) and elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav,  denied rumours circulating on social media claiming that he has become a father.

“I am distraught at rumours on social media that a woman with whom I had been falsely linked several months ago, which resulted in my expulsion from the party, has given birth to my child,” Tej Pratap said at a press conference. “My name is being linked to a girl and to children. I have no connection with any of them."

He also called RJD MP Sanjay Yadav, MLC Sunil Singh, former MLAs Shakti Singh Yadav and Mukesh Raushan, and Rameez — a close friend of Tejashwi Yadav — as “Jaichands”. It is a metaphor for traitors, referring to a 10th-century Rajput chieftain who had colluded with Afghan invader Muhammad Ghori.

Yadav accused them of hatching a conspiracy against him. Sanjay Yadav is a sitting RJD MP and Sunil Singh is an MLC, while Shakti Singh Yadav and Mukesh Raushan are former MLAs, and Rameez is a close friend of Tejashwi Yadav, the younger sibling of Tej Pratap, who was recently elevated to the post of the party's national working president.

“I am being defamed. A conspiracy has been hatched against me. Misleading news is being circulated on social media—some say I have a son, others say a daughter. There is no truth to any of this,” he said.

According to Tej Pratap, such allegations can push individuals into depression and even suicide.

He admitted that the rumours had affected him "emotionally" but said he was now stable.

He further alleged that several members of the RJD student wing were also involved in spreading misinformation to defame him continuously.

He also vowed to take legal action against the “Jaichands”, including a Rajya Sabha MP and a member of the legislative council.“I reject this (blessed with a child) claim. This is a conspiracy hatched by Mukesh Raushan and all these ‘jaichands’ in collusion to defame me. It should be investigated who Akash Bhati is, who has a relationship with that girl. This should be investigated, not what kind of relationship she has with him. What kind of relationship does that girl have with him?” Tej Pratap said.
