Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday met Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi to personally invite him to the wedding of his son, Arjun Tendulkar, with Saaniya Chandok. The couple got engaged in August last year.

Earlier in the day, the former India captain also extended invitations to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Arjun Tendulkar, 26, is a left-arm all-rounder who has featured in five IPL matches so far, taking three wickets while conceding 114 runs and scoring 13 runs with the bat. He currently represents Goa in domestic cricket after making his first-class debut for Mumbai in 2021.
In the IPL circuit, Arjun began his journey with the Mumbai Indians after being picked for Rs 20 lakh in the 2021 mini-auction, though he did not play that season.
MI retained him for Rs 30 lakh in the 2022 mega-auction, and he finally made his IPL debut in 2023, claiming three wickets in four matches. His appearances were limited again in 2024 after Hardik Pandya replaced Rohit Sharma as captain, with Arjun playing just one game.
During the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Arjun initially went unsold but was later bought back by Mumbai Indians at his base price of Rs 30 lakh in the accelerated round, where he remained on the bench through the season.
Ahead of IPL 2026, he was traded to Lucknow Super Giants, where he is set to feature this year. The trade also saw Mumbai Indians acquire leg-spinner Mayank Markande from Kolkata Knight Riders.
Saaniya Chandok comes from a prominent business family. She is the granddaughter of Ravi Ghai, chairman of the Graviss Group, and has long shared close ties with the Tendulkar family, especially Arjun’s sister Sara Tendulkar.
