With January beginning, public interest is rising around access to the Republic Day parade and the Beating Retreat ceremony in New Delhi. Many people hope to witness the celebrations from India Gate, even as official details for 2026 are still awaited. As noted earlier, the Ministry of Defence has not yet issued an official statement regarding ticket dates and prices for this year, leaving citizens to rely on patterns from the previous edition.
Likely timeline for ticket sales
Based on last year’s arrangements, bookings for parade tickets are expected to open in early January. In 2025, passes were made available between January 2 and January 11. Authorities are widely expected to follow a comparable window this year as well. Until formal confirmation is issued, prospective attendees are advised to keep checking rashtraparv.gov.in and aamantran.mod.gov.in for announcements and booking links once they go live.
Expected pricing structure
While final rates will be announced by the authorities, last year’s pricing offers a reasonable reference point. Parade tickets were priced between Rs 20 and Rs 100, depending on enclosure and seating location. The same slab is expected for 2026, though minor revisions cannot be ruled out. It is also worth noting that children above the prescribed age were required to hold individual tickets last year, a condition likely to continue.
Beating retreat ceremony passes
The Beating Retreat events traditionally have separate ticketing. In the previous cycle, the full dress rehearsal held on January 28 was priced at Rs 20, while the main ceremony on January 29 carried a ticket cost of Rs 100. These charges were set by the Ministry of Defence and may see slight adjustments this year.
Booking channels
Tickets are generally issued through multiple modes. Online bookings are done via aamantran.mod.gov.in, along with the Aamantran app, which is released through the Mobile Seva App Store or via a QR code. For those opting for physical counters, in-person booking is usually facilitated at select venues across the city.
Offline counters and ID requirements
Designated counters in past years have included locations such as Seva Bhawan, Shastri Bhawan, Jantar Mantar, Pragati Maidan and Rajiv Chowk Metro Station. Visitors are required to present original photo identification, including Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, PAN Card, Passport or other government-issued ID.
Once ticketing opens, early registration is crucial due to limited availability. Attendees must carry valid identification to the venue and rely only on official platforms, as advised earlier, to avoid misleading or unofficial sources.
