Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had a light-hearted but awkward moment with Pralhad Joshi outside Parliament on Wednesday when the Union minister was speaking to reporters about the leader of opposition's speech in the Lok Sabha.

In a video circulating on X, Union ministers Prahlad Joshi and Ashwini Vaishnaw can be seen interacting with reporters outside Parliament after Rahul Gandhi's fiery speech against the Centre.

"You must authenticate before leveling such charges ..." Joshi can be heard saying in the video, reacting to Rahul Gandhi raising the issue of the controversial Jeffrey Epstein files in the lower house.

Rahul can then be seen walking towards the Union ministers, alongside Priyanka Gandhi and other Congress leaders. He interrupts Joshi and proposes that the two should speak to the media together.

"Let's stand together ... let's stand together ... let's do it together ... come do it together," Rahul tells Joshi and briefly tries to hold his hand even as the Union minister dismisses the Congress leader and walks off.

Earlier, in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the government has "sold Bharat Mata" through the India-US interim trade deal and that it was a "wholesale surrender" with India's energy security handed over to America and farmers' interests compromised.

Participating in the debate on the Union Budget, he said: "You have sold India. Are you not ashamed of selling India? You have sold our mother, Bharat Mata."

He even tried to raise the matter of Epstein files in the lower house but was asked by the Lok Sabha Chair to refrain from making such allegations.

Later, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju alleged that Rahul Gandhi's speech in the Lok Sabha was "full of lies" and the ruling alliance will seek to expunge from the House records the "lies" he has spoken.
