Th band's performance on January 26 marked Coldplay’s final show in India as part of their "Music of the Spheres World Tour". The band had earlier performed in Mumbai at three sold-out concerts. Coldplay last visited India in 2016 for the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai.

A note by economists from Bank of Baroda Research recently said India's emerging economy around live music and entertainment events offers a potential of Rs 6,000-8,000 crore spending spree. "Our conservative to optimistic estimates suggests a push to spending ranging from around Rs 1,600-2,000 crore in the span of last two-three months, from the announcement of these concerts," Bank of Baroda Research said. If considered on an annualised basis, this category can provide the desired impact on private consumption demand, it added.
With the aim to take the Purvodaya mission forward, the Odisha government is hosting the flagship Global Investment Summit to portray the state as a leading investment destination and industrial hub in India.
Addressing the business summit, PM Narendra Modi congratulated the Odisha government. "I have been told that this is the biggest investors summit in the history of Odisha - 5 to 6 times more investors are participating in it. I believe Eastern India is the growth engine of the country and Odisha is an important part of it. When India used to have a massive contribution to global growth, India's eastern part had a huge contribution to that, and Odisha used to be the main centre of trade with South East Asia," he said.
