The Punjab government has decided to exempt 2.25 percent stamp duty and fees to those registering their property or land by March 31, the Information and Public Relations Department of Punjab informed on March 2.
-- Mumbai on March 2 added 18 new COVID-19 cases, taking the overall tally to 11,55,400, with the active count crossing the 50-case mark, the civic body said.
-- This is the third time this week that Mumbai has reported coronavirus case growth in double digits. On February 26 and 28, the city logged 12 and 10 cases, respectively.
-- Today’s fresh infections were the highest number of COVID-19 cases that Mumbai added since December 10, when there were 20 cases, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

After the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA secured a win in all the three northeastern states that went to polls – Nagaland, Tripura, and Meghalaya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the BJP headquarters in Delhi: “Today whenever I could watch TV, I saw results of Northeast all over...This is not a result of less distance between hearts but a reflection of a new ideology. Now Northeast is not far from Delhi or from hearts.”
He added: “I express my gratitude to women of Northeast. It is for the first time a woman candidate has won elections and reached Vidhan Sabha (Nagaland).”

Adani Green's 700 MW wind-solar hybrid plant, located in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer, has turned operational, CNBC TV-18 reported. The plant has a power purchase agreement (PPA) at Rs 3.24 per kwh for 25 years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 2 thanked the people of Nagaland for re-electing the Bharatiya Janata Party to power and reposing faith in the party. He said that a double-engine government will help ensure continued efforts toward the state's progress.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah too thanked the people of Nagaland for choosing “peace and progress” by re-electing the PM Modi-led NDA back in power. “The duo of PM Modi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will continue to advance peace and development in the state and fulfill people’s aspirations,” he said.
