Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad daughter Rohini Acharya shared a cryptic post on social media featuring a photograph of herself posing with a gun.
"Sahi galat pehchanne ki nazar bhi durust hai aur nishana bhi (Can distinguish right from wrong and aim is also perfect)" she wrote on X.
सही गलत पहचानने की नजर भी दुरुस्त है और निशाना भी .. pic.twitter.com/bN6LolijU0— Rohini Acharya (@RohiniAcharya2) January 6, 2026
Rohini, who is based in Singapore, had cut ties with RJD and even accused her brother Tejashwi Yadav of forcing her out of the family following the Bihar poll debacle in November last year. Mahagathbandhan (which the RJD is part of) managed to win only 35 of Bihar's 243 seats, while the NDA swept the elections with 202.
A doctor by profession, Rohini had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Bihar's Saran constituency. However, she lost to BJP's Rajeev Pratap Rudy.
Hours after the assembly poll verdict, she announced that she has quit politics and also severed ties with her family. "I'm quitting politics and I'm disowning my family. This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do. I'm taking all the blame," Rohini posted on X.
Recently, Rohini even appealed to the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government to ensure every woman stayed safely at her parental home. In a social media post, she indirectly commended the Bihar Chief Minister for initiatives like giving Rs 10,000 to women and providing bicycles to schoolgirls, but argued these measures were not enough. She noted that Bihar’s deeply entrenched patriarchal mindset demands broader social and political transformation.
In December 2022, Rohini Acharya had donated a kidney to her father. She was then accused of giving a 'filthy kidney' to her ailing father.
