Ladki Bahin Yojana: Maharashtra govt announces Diwali bonus 2024; check details

The Diwali Bonus is to empower women financially, allowing them to shop and celebrate without financial worries.

The Maharashtra government has announced the Ladki Bahin Yojana Diwali Bonus 2024 to enhance the financial stability and self-reliance of women in the state.

As per the recent notification, the government will credit Rs 3,000, which includes the 4th and 5th installment payments, directly into the bank accounts of eligible women beneficiaries.

Under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, eligible women beneficiaries  in Maharashtra receive financial aid of Rs 1,500 every month from the government. Women and girls aged 21 to 65 from families with an annual income below Rs 2.5 lakh are eligible.

As part of the Diwali festival, which is later this month, the state government plans to disburse the October and November instalments early, according to an Economic Times report.

To qualify for the Ladki Bahin Diwali Bonus, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Women must be residents of Maharashtra.
• Applicants should be between 21 and 65 years old.
• Applicants must possess a bank account in their name.
• Family income should not exceed Rs 2 lakh annually.

The ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ is a step towards empowering women and ensuring their economic well-being, the Eknath Shinde-led government said. With the support of this scheme, the Maharashtra government hopes to significantly impact the lives of women across the state.
