California is home to nearly 39 million residents and over 16 million of them participated in the November 5 election. However, California is yet to count over 300,000 ballots, according to reports.
The delay is primarily due to its vast size and predominance of mail-in voting.
Elections in California are primarily conducted by mail. As a result, it requires more time and effort to verify mail-in ballots compared to those cast in person.
