Sanjoy Roy, the main accused in the RG Kar Medical College rape and murder case, turned emotional before a magistrate as he was giving consent for the polygraph test.

Roy was presented by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) before a special court in Kolkata. The agency had sought approval for a polygraph test of the accused and suspects in the case.

Roy reportedly turned emotional when the judge asked him why he was consenting to the polygraph test, according to a report by Times of India.

The accused told the court that he did not do anything and is being framed. "I haven’t committed any crime. I’m being framed. Maybe this test will prove that,” he was quoted as saying by the publication.

Roy was on August 23 sent to a 14-day judicial custody after his police custody ended on the same day.

Kolkata doctor rape-murder case:

The body of a 31-year-old postgraduate trainee doctor was found inside the seminar hall of RG Kar's chest department in the morning of August 9, bringing about a massive uproar and protests across the country.

A day after the incident, civic volunteer Sanjoy Roy was arrested in the case.

On August 13, the Calcutta High Court ordered the transfer of the probe from the Kolkata Police to the CBI, which started its investigation on August 14.

The psychoanalytic profiling Roy has revealed that he is a “pervert and severely addicted to pornography”, a CBI officer told PTI. Moreover, the officer also said that Roy has “animal-like instinct” and that, he exhibited no remorse for the heinous rape and murder.

“The man showed no repentance and narrated the entire episode giving every minute detail without hiccups. It appeared he had no remorse,” the officer told PTI.

On August 24, the lie detection tests on the main accused and six others in the alleged rape and murder case began.
