  • Three minor sisters died after jumping from a ninth-floor flat in Ghaziabad.
  • Police are probing possible links to a Korean task-based online game.
  • Parents objected to girls' excessive phone use before the incident.

As the investigation into the deaths of three minor sisters in Ghaziabad continues, sources told CNN-News18 that the girls’ father had two wives, who are sisters, and that the entire family lived together in the same apartment where the incident took place.

According to the sources, the father, Chetan Kumar, who works as a trader, married for a second time after his first marriage did not initially result in children. He later married his first wife’s younger sister, and three children were born from the second marriage.

During the same period, his first wife also had two children. Kumar, both his wives, and all five children were living together in a ninth-floor flat in the Bharat City housing complex in the Sahibabad area.

Of the three sisters who jumped from the building, one was born to the first wife, while the other two were from the second wife, sources said.

The three minors died after jumping from the balcony of their ninth-floor residence around 2.15 am on Wednesday. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Teela Mor police station.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Atul Kumar Singh told reporters that police received information in the early hours that three girls had jumped from the balcony of a high-rise tower in Bharat City. The girls were rushed in an ambulance to a hospital in Loni, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Later, speaking to reporters, the father said he had been informed by the forensic team that the possible influence of an online Korean task-based game, in which the final goal was allegedly suicide, was being examined. Police officials, however, said no such link has been established so far.

Meanwhile, news agency PTI reported that police said preliminary investigation suggested the sisters were addicted to a Korean task-based interactive “love game,” and that their parents had objected to their excessive mobile phone usage in recent days.
