After parents refuse to accept his interfaith marriage, man kills them; chops bodies into pieces and throws into river in UP

An engineer murdered his elderly parents in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur and chopped off their bodies with a saw before throwing the pieces into a river, NDTV reported.

The incident came to light when the police started looking for the missing couple after the couple's daughter filed a missing persons report on December 13.

Police said that the accused Ambesh and his parents, Bhadur and Babita, used to have a lot of altercations over his Muslim wife, as the parents refused to accept her into the household, following which, Ambesh and his wife decided to end their marriage. He, however, needed money to pay alimony to her.

For this, Ambesh asked for money from his father but he allegedly refused. This became the point which ultimately led Ambesh to murder both Babita and Bahadur.

Ambesh's sister Vandana had told the police that her parents and her brother had been missing and that Ambesh had informed her on December 8 that the parents had left the house following an argument and he was going to look for them.

After this, Ambesh's phone was switched off and this caused Vandana to finally register a complaint with the police. Police found Ambesh one week later, after which, he broke down and confessed to his crime.

NDTV reported that Ambesh hit Babita with a grinding stone, after which, Bahadur started screaming to call for help. But before help could arrive, Ambesh hit him on the head several times, after which, the couple died.

Ambesh then looked for a large bag to get rid of the bodies but didn't find any so he then started chopping the bodies into smaller pieces for the ease of disposal. He kept the packets with his parents' bodies in his car boot and then threw them into a river. He then called Vandana.

Police have found one part of Bahadur's body and a saw that was used to chop the bodies. They are currently looking for other body parts.
