FIIs net buy Rs 715 crore in Stock Futures on Wed

FIIs were net sellers of Rs 217 crore in Index Futures; which open interest (OI) was up by 27532 contracts. However, FIIs were net buyers of Rs 715 crore in Stock Futures; which OI was up by 227 contracts.

FIIs were net sellers of Rs 217 crore in Index Futures; which open interest (OI) was up by 27532 contracts. However, FIIs were net buyers of Rs 715 crore in Stock Futures; which OI was up by 227 contracts.


Stock Futures added 1.27 crore shares in OI. Nifty Open Interest PCR was up at 1.01 versus 0.95. Nifty February 6000 Call added 3.12 lakh shares in OI while Nifty February 5500 Put added 3.6 lakh shares in OI.


Short covering & cash based buying were seen in Suzlon Energy, Orchid Chemical, Shree Renuka and Sterlite Industries. Suzlon was biggest gainer on Nifty with 12.6% rally. Its OI was down by 4% and delivery volume shot up to 80 lakh equity shares as against 35.5 lakh shares.


Orchid Chemical jumped 10.4%; its OI was down 12% and delivery volume was up at 12.4 lakh shares versus 6.6 lakh.


Shree Renuka rallied 10%; its OI was down by 5% and delivery volume went up at 60 lakh shares versus 27 lakh. Sterlite Industries rose 7.4%; its OI was down by 6% and delivery volume increased at 41 lakh shares versus 28.6 lakh shares.

Short covering was seen in SBI. The stock rose 2%; its OI was down by 3% and delivery volume was up at 11 lakh shares versus 10 lakh.
